The Travesty of Mountains and Rivers

Interactive Art and Literature
"The Travesty of Mountains and Rivers" is my developed "Travesty" version inspired by the Chinese fantasy epic, "The Classics of Mountains and Rivers." This work is renowned for its vivid depictions of monsters and spirits. Using excerpts from the original "Classics of Mountains," my adaptation follows the geographical guidance style prevalent in the book, often beginning with phrases like "又南(西/北/东)?里,曰?山;其……;有……" (Then turn south (west/north/east) xxx miles away; there is a mountain called xxx; it is...; there is…). The main content serves as a geographical guide with immemorial descriptions. To enhance the imaginative experience, I employ N-grams to generate additional descriptions for these timeless and fantastical mountains, allowing readers to envision their own unique adventures.
The interface is tailored, featuring text generators visible only when the page is sufficiently large. Otherwise, it transforms into an overarching cover with the statement: "大凡天下名山五千三百七十,居地,大凡六萬四千五十六里."
This adaptation invites readers to explore the vast and imaginative world of mountains and rivers within the context of a new and creative narrative.
