On the Door of Whoever
2023
Machine Learning Art, Interactive Installation
This interactive installation project delves into the act and sound of knocking on doors, creating a scenario where power dynamics within and outside the door are redefined. The identity of the occupant is reinterpreted, revealing that anxiety and insecurity stem from neglecting individuals. The door system I designed explores how knocking impacts inequality and personal well-being. Models were trained to overlook the real image of door-knockers, recognizing them instead as powerful entities distrusted for their appearance and actions. Door-knockers experience an unfamiliar perspective, prompting a reevaluation of their actions. The knocking sound serves as an alarm, ingrained in collective consciousness. If we undervalue our rights or those of others, we risk losing control of our voices and images.
